Farnham Carnival 2021: Response to Covid-19 outbreak

June Carnival cancelled.

In light of the ongoing restrictions the decision has regrettably been taken to cancel this year's

Carnival planned for June 2021.

“Despite the national picture starting to look more positive,” says Carnival Chairman Graham Noakes,

"even if there are no delays in implementing each phase, the government's step-by-step post-lockdown

plan simply does not allow sufficient time for our major event to take place in its usual format."

The next Carnival will therefore be on Saturday 25th June 2022.

Better News!

However, with growing confidence that large scale public events might be able to take place later this year,

the Committee is developing plans for a Halloween themed event on Saturday 30th October 2021 .

"We want to play our part in getting the 'feel-good factor' back into the town as soon as we can.

Early days perhaps but we are actively planning for the possibility of a Halloween Fayre in Gostrey Meadow

together with a trail of some form - sounds spooky! We hope it will give children the chance to dress up as well as

providing a fun day our for all the family." Keep your eyes on the Carnival website in the coming weeks and

months for full details of the Halloween Fayre and Trail and how you can take part.  We hope you are as excited as we are about getting everyone back together after all this time. Scary stuff!!
